PLAY IT SUPER SAFE PROGRAM

Ready for School

Autism Spectrum Disorder Treatment: PLAY IT SUPER SAFE PROGRAM

According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), about 1% of the world’s population has autism spectrum disorder (ASD) – over 75,000,000 people. Autism and Developmental Disabilities Monitoring reported that one in 54 U.S. children has autism. Also, boys are four times more likely to be diagnosed with ASD than girls.

It is possible to detect signs of autism as early as 18 months or younger, because ASD affects the way children develop and interact with the world. They do not develop at the same pace as their peers.

The sooner a child begins treatment, the better prognosis they will have because a child’s brain is more impressionable at a younger age. Research proves that intervening early can improve a child’s development and future independence. Therefore, treatments, such as the PLAY IT SUPER SAFE PROGRAM, have a greater chance of being effective and long-lasting.

Some of the early signs of autism include:

  • Limited or no eye contact

  • Few or no smiles or facial expressions

  • Limited play with others

  • Limited sharing of sounds

  • Not looking at objects being pointed to

  • Not meeting age-appropriate speech and language milestones.

Other signs that are seen in children who have ASD per the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), may include:

  • Repetitive play or verbal expressiveness (echolalia)

  • A fixation on certain activities, ideas, or concepts

  • A reluctance to engage in new experiences or to disrupt routines

  • Aversion to certain forms of interaction, especially hugging or cuddling

  • Avoiding eye contact and being difficult to engage in conversation

  • Missing verbal or physical cues, such as not looking at where someone is pointing

  • Having difficulty understanding others’ feelings or talking about feelings in general

  • Reluctance to socialize or a preference for isolation

  • Trouble expressing their needs or wishes

  • Unexpected reactions to certain sights, sounds, textures, or smells

  • Tantrums or explosive aggression with unexpected triggers

Also, some children with ASD may appear to have or have a learning disability, a behavior disorder, or mental health disorders, such as anxiety, depression, or an attention deficit disorder, and also co-occurring medical challenges, such as Gastrointestinal (GI) discomfort, trouble sleeping, or seizures.

While traditional treatments are helpful, we realized that MORE needed to be done!

How We Can Help At A by G Therapy and  Consulting Services

A by G Therapy and Consulting Services aims to provide the most innovative intervention to help our clients reach their maximal potential by offering the best evidence-based treatment available. In the area of ASD and ADHD, our recommended intervention is our Play It Super Safe Program, which is based on the Polyvagal Theory and speech and language research.

Polyvagal Theory, or the “science of feeling safe,” is another one of the key research advancements that helps us better understand our challenges and gives us a foundational framework for non-invasive ways to support them.

The Play It Super Safe Program affects quality of life, both for individuals and their families.  It can impact individuals internally by how they feel and think, and externally in their ability to connect with others and the world around them.

At A by G Therapy and Consulting Services, we provide bottom-up, non-invasive solutions that are practical and accessible. Our mission is to guide every person to train their nervous systems to be more aware, regulated and resilient so they can feel safe, happy and healthy and more effectively respond to life’s challenges.

WHAT IS IT?

The Play It Super Safe Program combines the research-based, Safe and Sound Protocol (SSP) with the expert advice of a Doctor of Speech-Language Pathology to help individuals regulate their nervous system: improving social behavior, cognitive functioning, and communication. It helps them feel calmer, reduces sensitivity to sounds, and improves their ability to notice their feelings. One way that the nervous system reacts is based on sounds that alert the body of safety or danger.  If the ears filter sound incorrectly, it can cause the nervous system to react inappropriately. This makes the child feel "unsafe" which psychologically makes the child react in a way to protect themselves. They try to regulate themselves (to feel safe) in the following ways: routines, being socially distant, object fixation, stimming, etc. When their system is focused on survival skills, their cognition, communication, behavior, and social skills suffer.

HOW DOES IT WORK?

The SSP provides neural exercise to the muscles of the middle ear structures through musical intervention to help the ear filter sounds appropriate which helps the nervous system function correctly. When the nervous system functions correctly, children can feel safe, learn, and function better.

How will I get the musical intervention? Once you have purchased the subscription, within 48 hours you will receive an invitation to create your account and instructions on how to download an app that will give you access to the program. Once you have downloaded the app, via Apple or Google Play Store, you will need to enter the username and password you created when you activated your account.

We live in a toxic world

From the moment our children are born, over 200 chemicals course through their veins. From the yards they play in, to the clothes they wear and the food they eat, our kids continue to absorb toxic chemicals every day.

BIORAY Kids® was created to counter the negative effects of pollution and other damaging toxins. By including micronized chlorella and organic herbs, BIORAY®'s products move toxins out and support healthy organ function.

How Serious is the Situation for Kids?

Toxins block our children's ability to absorb nutrients and affect their behavior, health and ability to learn. The organs that these toxins impact the most are the liver, the gastrointestinal tract, the adrenals, the brain (mind) and colon.

  • What do I have to do?
Purchase the monthly or yearly subscription. You will receive instructions on how to download the app and instructions on how to facilitate the program. Lastly, follow the guidelines of how to implement the program. It is just that simple.
  • Why should I do this?
This program does not look at the symptoms of Autism Spectrum Disorder and ADHD and focus on “managing” them. It is focused on getting to the root of the issue, which is a dysregulated nervous system. This program will give you and/or your child the opportunity to feel regulated enough to reach their max potential!
  • How it started?
I began using this program with my private clients only. I saw AMAZING results and wanted to figure out a way to help more children and parents. One of my parents actually challenged me to let other people in on this amazing program because of the progress that her daughter was making and also because of the reduced stress that her and her husband were experiencing. She literally said people need this and the only thing that is stopping that is “YOU.” That stung!! So, I had to make time to start this program JUST FOR YOU!!!
  • Did you invent this program?
I did not invent the SSP; I am one of the few speech language pathologists certified to provide the intervention. I started the Play It Super Safe program which is the SSP program overseen by a Doctor of Speech-Language Pathology, Dr. Glinda Mauldin.
  • Does my child still need therapy?
Yes. Continue all therapy that the child is receiving. This program will help speed up their progress. It is meant to supplement therapeutic interventions, not take the place of them, especially in severe cases.
  • Does this program work for adults too?
Yes! Adults with Autism and/or ADHD can definitely benefit from this program too! Also, I highly recommend that parents who have been struggling with their child’s diagnosis and/or finding it difficult to manage the stress that it takes to care for a child with Autism and/or ADHD consider doing the program as well.
  • Is the music the same for children and adults?
No. The children have children music/songs, and the adults have adult music/songs. If you are purchasing the program for a teenager, you will have to choose which genre of music fits your child’s personality the best. Most of the time, teenagers will like the child version best.
  • Are refunds available?
No. Refunds are not available, but you can cancel at any time. Results are not guaranteed as everyone’s nervous system responds differently depending on the level of dysregulation. Please allow time for the program to work. FYI: Do not expect major results from the Connect phase because is it not the intervention phase; it is used to help prepare the system for the intervention phase which is the Core Phase.
  • Phases?
There are 3 different phases of the program: Connect, Core, and Balance. Connect is the preintervention phase. It allows the nervous system to acclimate to the intervention. Core is the intervention phase. It can be repeated until you achieve your desired results. Balance is a maintenance phase. Balance is used once maximal results are achieved or if a break between repeating the Core phase is desired.
  • Has research been done on this program?
Yes! Here are a few articles to read. Reducing Auditory Hypersensitivities in Autistic Spectrum Disorder: Preliminary Findings Evaluating the Listening Project Protocol The Effect of the SSP On the Regulation of Hypersensitivity In ASD https://integratedlistening.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/09/handout-autismeu-ic-2019.pdf Reducing Hypersensitivities in Autistic Spectrum Disorder: Preliminary Findings Evaluating The Listening https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC4117928/
  • Do I have to be a direct client or in your state to do the program?
No. The program is administered remotely and can be used any where in the world. Since it is set up as a subscription program, you do not have to be our direct client or in our state to use the program. We structured it this way to allow more individuals to benefit from the program.

"My child was about to get kicked out of daycare because of her behavior. After we started doing the program, she is so much calmer now and not getting in trouble near as much. I’m so happy that I don’t have to find a new daycare."
